Mikail was born in Hong Kong, raised in Rome but it was his 7 years in London and his year-long Berlin sabbatical, where he worked under Richie Hawtin, that opened his mind into electronic music. Coupled with his Swiss and Filipino heritage, it exposed him to all kinds of influences, musical and others. His first proper exposure to dance music, which today is his passion, was a mix CD given to him by his uncle at age 12 who was the Philippines’ top DJ at the time.
Today, his sound revolves mainly around House, but often dips into Techno, Disco or even World music sounds, assuring the dance moves and smiles never seize on the dance floor. He has a natural ear for the trade something that even Jamie xx can attest to, him being The xx’s Asian Tour DJ for their debut in the region. Mikail relocated to Asia in 2013 to help grow the scene in his native part of the world.
Through his revered FunkyZeit warehouse parties in London, which he had cultivated for 4 years attracting up to 1000 music-lovers every month, and more recently in Manila through his UNKNWN events, or at major Asian festivals such as Clockenflap in Hong Kong, or Wonderfruit in Thailand, he has shared the decks with heavyweight DJ’s such as Jamie xx, Franz Ferdinand, Bicep, Kerri Chandler, Magda or Nina Kraviz to name a few.
He has also recently opened his first nightclub XX XX (20:20) together with partners, dedicated completely to quality electronic music, having brought in everyone from Ostgut Ton residents to heavyweights Bicep.
Having played to intimate crowds of 100 to masses of over 1,000 in cities such as London, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Miami, Rome, Bali, Hong Kong and Singapore - the word versatile could not be applied more appropriately. Since moving to his (half) native Manila he has a drive and passion for growing the quality electronic music scene in the country and the region – through his own gigs, his newly opened club and his events and marketing agency, Third Culture Music.

Halcyon is the newest addition to the infamous Wyndham Street, opening as a cafe in the daytime and transitioning into a late night bar. The focus is on music and cocktails, with a world class sound system and a line up of HKs best DJs.
